November 15-19

Here is what you can expect this week!
Math: Topic 6 is all about fractions and decimals.
Social Studies: We will be devoting social studies and writing time to our country reports this week. Students will have 30-40 minutes each day to work on their notes, outlines and bibliographies. This should be plenty of time, but if anyone needs Thanksgiving break to finish up just let me know.
Spelling: Students should be studying the Take Home Task each night. It will be due on Friday. This week's skill focuses on words that look alike and are often confused.
Writing: Writing a research paper is a skill that students will need all through their academic careers. We will spend this week learning how to take and turn notes into an outline.
Reading: Good readers wonder about what they are reading. We will use questioning strategies to comprehend non-fiction books on Ancient Greece.
Science: Mrs. Boyce's class continues to learn all about fungus with Mrs. Engel.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful Thanksgiving break!
